METADATA

METADATA- The term metadata is often defined as "data about data", however, it is used for two different concepts: structural metadata and descriptive metadata. Structural metadata is defined as data about containers of data or the structure of data. Descriptive metadata is about data content. Metadata also provides information about aspects of data like: how the data was created, purpose of the data, time and date of creation, creator(s) of data, location on the computer network where it was created, and standards used.
