METADATA

METADATA- The term metadata is often defined as "data about data", however, it is used for two different concepts: structural metadata and descriptive metadata. Structural metadata is defined as data about containers of data or the structure of data. Descriptive metadata is about data content. Metadata also provides information about aspects of data like: how the data was created, purpose of the data, time and date of creation, creator(s) of data, location on the computer network where it was created, and standards used.

Triangle of Exposure

1. Aperture is a hole through which light travels. You can control the light that comes through by making the aperture larger or smaller. It is measured in F-stops.

2. Shutter Speed is how fast the shutter moves and how long the light has to penetrate the aperture and reach the image sensor or film. Basically it controls the length of the light exposure.

3.ISO is the type of film or type of image sensor. You can change the ISO to make your image sensor more or less sensitive to light thus affecting the intensity of light in your photographs.

4. Depth of field is the distance between the nearest object and farthest object that appear sharp in a  given frame. This gives the photograph an element of depth

5. Motion Blur is the apparent streaking of a rapidly moving object in a still image. This can be done through either rapid movement or long exposure.

6.Noise and light sensitivity is visual distortion or an image, it is equivalent to grain in film. If the image sensor is very sensitive to light it will be more grainy.

Film Photography vs. Digital Photography

Benefits of Film Photography:
1. With film photogrpahy you put more thought into each shot because there are a limited number of pictures you can take on each role of film
2. Black and white film photographs have more contrast so you can see the details.
3. Film cameras last longer than digital ones.
4. Mistakes made while using a film camera can actually make the image better and more authentic.
5. Film photgraphs have higher resolution.

Negatives of Film Photography:
1. Camera is heavy.
2. A Black room and Dark room in needed.
3. You can only take a limited amount of pictures.
4. You have to wait for the photo to be developed to see whether or not the image was a good one.
5. Theres a lot of mistakes you can makes like you cant open the camera when the film is in, and you have to be careful of light exposure to film.

Benefits of Digital Photography:
1. Editing is very easy to do.
2. Can take almost endless number of photos on a memory card.
3. You can change your film speed(ISO) on each photo.
4. You can immediately see the image you capture.
5. Easy to change effects, and manipulate an image.

Negatives of Film Photography:
1. Details are lost in balck and white photographs.
2. Higher initial coast.
3. Less durable, and easily damaged.
4. Battery life is less than film cameras.
5. They are complex and hard to use.
